Technical Workshop for Designers of the Electricity Sector

On 26-27 June 2024, we organised a Technical Workshop for Electrical Power Sector Designers at the Arche Hotel in Lublin. These were two intensive days, full of valuable knowledge and practical skills. The event was attended by specialists from the power sector, who had the opportunity to broaden their knowledge and gain new competences necessary in their daily work.

The training was led by experienced experts: Krzysztof Nowacki, Director of the R&D department, and Maciej Tomczyszyn, Marketing and Sales Manager of Bitstream. The workshop programme was carefully prepared so that participants could fully benefit from the knowledge provided.

On the first day of the workshop, Dariusz Pietrzyk, CEO of Bitstream, introduced the company and its mission. Next, Maciej Tomczyszyn presented the Hyperion and Quazar product lines, discussing their use in the Communications, EAZ (Electricity Assisted Safety Automation) and SOT (Technical Protection Systems) departments. The next part of the training was led by Krzysztof Nowacki, who focused on IEC 61850 technologies at the substation, illustrating his presentation with practical examples. After a lunch break, participants were introduced to PRP/HSR lossless transmission topologies, and the day ended with a session on design batches and unique functionalities.

The second day of the workshop started with a session led by Andrzej Juszczyk, who discussed PMU and substation EAZ design based on IEC 61850. After a short break, Krzysztof Nowacki presented on secure communication with distributed energy resource systems. The lunch break was followed by the presentation of certificates, officially concluding the training.

The workshop was an excellent opportunity to exchange experiences and gain new knowledge about modern solutions in the power sector. Participants particularly appreciated the practical approach to the topics discussed. The training programme covered a wide range of topics, from a presentation of Hyperion and Quazar products, through IEC 61850 technologies, to secure communication with distributed energy resource systems.

We would like to thank all participants for their active participation and invite them to future events organised by Bitstream.
