European funds have recently been unblocked for Poland. The funds from the KPO, or National Plan for Reconstruction and European Funds, are to boost the Polish economy and new investments. According to the gov.pl portal, the stream of funds is to flow into, among other things, accelerating digital transformation in the economy, increasing energy security, innovation and the use of modern technologies.
The aim of the KPO is to strengthen the Polish economy after the COVID-19 pandemic, shift it to a new track of development and make it more resistant to all crises. The KPO as a whole amounts to approximately EUR 60 billion. The challenge for our country, however, is that the NIP money has to be spent by the end of 2026, which means we still have less than three years to do it.
The changing world brings not only new challenges but also new opportunities to the energy industry. In order to cope with these changes and to use the funds to maximise the efficiency and innovation of energy systems in ongoing projects, it is worth betting on cooperation with professional and reliable companies so that they are carried out in a timely, efficient and, above all, effective manner.
Time is money - BitStream is the solution
In an era of rapid change, it is not only the introduction of modern solutions that is crucial, but also the speed of their implementation. Experience and efficient organisation is something that can guarantee timely implementation of projects, allowing KPO funds to be used as effectively as possible.
Bitstream is a leading Polish manufacturer of time synchronisation and data transmission solutions. We proudly emphasise the local origin of our devices. Manufactured locally but with global standards, our devices meet all technological requirements and comply with the highest standards of sales, distribution and production process management.
Meeting the requirements for certification of further areas of the company guarantees the high quality of our services and products. We manufacture our equipment on time and to the highest quality standards, in accordance with the expectations of our customers, maintaining high work safety standards and taking care to minimise any negative impact on the environment.
We manufacture time synchronisation and data transmission solutions not only for the power industry, but also for security systems, telecommunications and other industries. Importantly, by manufacturing in-house, we ensure not only high quality, but also that there are no delivery problems. Furthermore, our team of experts is always on hand to provide technical support and ensure that all processes run smoothly.

Join us on the road to innovation
Bitstream's time synchronisation and data transmission solutions are designed with the needs of the modern energy industry in mind. We offer not just hardware, but comprehensive solutions that fit in with KPO's objectives, contributing to energy efficiency and system security.
Our equipment offers not only accuracy, speed and reliability, but also ease of integration into existing systems.
For more than seventeen years, we have been providing reliable and comprehensive connectivity, communication and computing solutions to Polish energy companies.
We can boast over a thousand successful implementations, and our solutions manage substations, power companies and distributed energy resources throughout Poland.
We can also ensure that the energy systems supported by our equipment support all the protocols needed to increase the precision of automation at substations and ensure security.
A variety of protocols and technologies are used to implement digital automated substations. Of key importance here are:
- IEC 61850 standards: These include comprehensive solutions for substation automation systems, providing precise time synchronisation, security and the necessary protocols for substation automation.
- Data transmission encryption mechanisms: To increase the security of critical infrastructure, encryption is used, e.g. for the L2 layer (MACSEC), which is important for the protection of transmitted data.
- Precise time synchronisation: This is crucial for systems generating digital samples of analogue values, network status monitoring, control and security, where very high accuracy is required. Protocols such as IEEE1588v.2 are used here, along with the required profiles and technologies such as Synchronous Ethernet, which enable the construction of precise synchronisation networks.
- Advanced Ethernet switches: High-performance (low latency and fast switching) switches, offering speeds of up to 10Gbps at station level, are required to handle the high volumes of data generated by applications such as Sampled Values and Phasor Measurement Unit (PMU).
Together, these elements form the basis for building a reliable, seamless, efficient and accurate substation infrastructure, increasing reliability and enhancing security.
