On 23-25 October, the ‘Relay Protection in Power Engineering’ Conference was held in Warsaw, one of the most important industry events bringing together experts in the field of electrical power protection automation. The event was organised by the Power Engineering Automation Committee and the Institute of Power Engineering - National Research Institute, who once again created a space for the exchange of knowledge and experience between specialists.

BitStream was honoured to actively participate in the conference, presenting modern solutions supporting safety and reliability in the power industry at its stand. The focus of attention was our telecommunications rack cabinets, equipped with devices supporting secure data transmission and time synchronisation. Among other things, our range of products included industrial Ethernet switches, adapted to demanding environmental conditions and providing redundancy and security functions, which generated a lot of interest among visitors.

One of the key points of our presence at the conference was a presentation by Krzysztof Nowacki, BitStream's Director of Research and Development, who presented a paper entitled. ‘Secure communication with distributed energy resource systems’. This topic, due to the growing popularity of distributed energy solutions and the need to integrate them into smart grids, attracted a wide audience. The presentation highlighted key aspects related to cyber security, including methods to ensure data integrity and time synchronisation, which is directly applicable to SCADA systems and other critical infrastructure components.
